About Qumrah | قُمرة

Welcome to Qumrah. Owning an independent business has been my goal since before university. Today, thank God, I have launched this business, using 3D printing as a practical vehicle to build a unique lighting brand.

As a medical student, I initially began exploring 3D printing because of its incredible potential. While there are amazing applications in the medical, dental, and prosthetic fields, they aren't things I can practically implement at this stage in my journey. From my personal observations locally, I noticed that 3D printing around me was mostly being used for very simple, basic items. I wanted to find a meaningful way to use this technology to create something genuinely beautiful, which eventually led me to the world of decor and lighting.

Balancing my university studies with building this business is a big challenge, but my goal is simple: to build a project that helps me achieve personal independence and serves as a tool toward my bigger future ambitions. I wanted a name that was attractive and full of meaning, which is how I chose Qumrah—the Arabic word for Moonlight.

Our Designs & Transparency

To be completely honest, I am still building my presence and gaining experience in this industry. Because of this, the lamps I offer today are not my own original inventions. They are beautiful, pre-made designs created by a talented designer.

I secured the commercial licenses for these pieces and worked alongside the designer to make minor tweaks and prototype them until they were just right. While I am currently only working with this specific designer, I may collaborate with others as the brand grows. To give each piece its own identity, I changed their names to represent meaningful things—like historic cities, beautiful areas, or resonant sounds (such as our Qurtubah model).

One day, I hope to offer entirely unique, original designs exclusive to Qumrah. Since I am a medical student and not a specialist in art or drafting, I won’t be drawing them myself. Instead, my goal is to partner with specialized designers who can bring custom concepts to life for our brand. Who knows what the future holds!
